The Evangelical Methodist Seminary of Costa Rica
"If you call out for insight, and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God."
Proverbs 2:3-5
One of our main areas of service is with the Methodist Seminary, founded in 1991. The Seminary is the primary institution for pastoral and lay training for the church. It offers courses at a variety of levels, ranging from the central San Jose campus to resources for local church education. Will is one of five full-time professors at the central campus, as well as having certain administrative duties. At the main campus, the majority of student are all-ready pastors or full-time ministers, and they come for one-week intensive classes each month. Our involvement with the Seminary over the years has been an incredible blessing, primarily through the witness and dedication of the men and women who are committed to improving their service to the local church. Their sacrifice and example is a daily reminder to us of the path we're all on to improve our service to Christ's Church.
Many students are able to attend Seminary only because of the generosity of donors who provide scholarships, with an average annual cost per student of $300. Please write if you are interested in sponsoring a student in this way, and please be in prayer for our students and faculty.

2015-2016 Photos
At the church's annual General Assembly in December 2015, the Seminary was proud to present its largest-ever graduating class, twenty-five men and women who received their Diploma in Theology after three or more years of hard work and great sacrifice. It was a moment of celebration and gratitude, as we thanked God for accompanying them along this journey. We look forward to the entering class in 2016 and the blessings that await us in the new academic year.

In 2013 the Seminary was blessed to welcome one of the largest incoming classes in our history, twenty-five new students who all have some form of part- or full-time ministry in the Church. We thank the Lord for these new students and for their energy and commitment to His work, and we look forward to serving them over the coming years. In the first photo, you can see our entire 2013 student body and faculty. The following photos are of one of our proudest moments each year: our Seminary graduation at the General Assembly. This year we graduated four veteran students, each of whom was a blessing to us during their time at Seminary. We pray for their continued service to the Church and the Kingdom.
