2020 Work Teams
The coronavirus pandemic and the necessary containment measures such as closed borders have unfortunately stopped our ability to host work teams at the Methodist Children's Home since mid-March. We are however greatly appreciative of the "early bird" teams who came in late January and February. They got the year off to a good start, primarily with stucco work on the multipurpose building and continuing the upper part of the perimeter wall. One team also put a new roof on the sanctuary of the church in Platanares as well as continuing its perimeter wall.
The teams, all of which were returning groups filled with old friends and new, were from: Kalamazoo, Michigan; Ann Arbor, Michigan (two weeks); and Perdido Bay, Florida.
While the Home cannot host teams likely through the rest of 2020, we are able to keep some of our workers on salary, and we ask for your prayers and donations for that to remain so in the months to come. We trust God's providence and the goodwill and desire of our partner churches in order to begin hosting teams again at the proper time.
